Let’s start… with introspection
Introspection is an invitation to revisit the past year, not with a critical eye, but with a benevolent curiosity. Every month, every day has brought its share of successes, challenges, emotions and learning. As we turn the page, let’s take a moment to explore what this year has taught us, and what we wish for the one ahead.
Last year’s lessons
The past year can be seen as a mirror of our experiences, strengths and areas for growth. Here are a few tips to guide this introspection:
- Successes: What moments of pride or joy stand out? Even the smallest successes deserve to be celebrated.
- Challenges: What hardships have you overcome, and how have these experiences shaped your resilience?
- Relationships: Which ties have strengthened, and which may have weakened? What have you learned about the way you build relationships?
- Well-being: What habits have contributed to your physical, mental or emotional well-being? And conversely, what might have hindered it?
- Learning: What new knowledge or skills have you acquired, and how has this enriched your view of the world or your daily life?
Letting go and gratitude
Introspection is also an opportunity to let go of what no longer serves you. What beliefs, habits or emotions would you like to leave behind? This process of lightening can be accompanied by a moment of gratitude: thanking experiences, good or bad, for their role in your journey.
Intention for the coming year: Sowing seeds for the future
The year ahead is like a blank canvas, ready to receive your intentions. Unlike resolutions, which are often rigid, intentions are gentle directions that allow you to stay aligned with your values while remaining flexible.
Here are a few tips to help you define your intentions:
- Getting back to basics: What’s really important to you? What do you want to nourish in your life?
- Set priorities: What are the top three or four priorities for the coming year? These could be health, relationships, career, or even connecting with yourself.
- Create rituals: What small gestures or habits could you incorporate into your daily routine to support your intentions? For example, a morning ritual of gratitude, a weekly moment dedicated to a personal project, or a self-care routine, breathing mindfully.
- Embracing imperfection: Remember that every intention is a guide, not a constraint. The essential thing is to move forward, even with hesitant steps.
A year of growth
By combining reflection on the past year with intentions for the one to come, we can create continuity in our personal journey. It’s an opportunity to remember that each year is a chapter in a larger book, that of our lives. What counts is not perfection, but progress, authenticity and the desire to grow.
