This new letter will be dedicated to my experience in the desert during my first retreat.
My colleague Béa and I accompanied 10 people into the heart of the Sahara, reaching the majestic Golden Sand Dunes. With the help of the nomads, we had an extraordinary experience.

Back to basics

What struck us most was the total break with our usual distractions:

In this silence, we were almost forced to adopt an essential simplicity, revealing an authenticity without filter or artifice. The harshness of the desert imposes a simplicity that alone makes the experience unforgettable.

But what counts even more is the quality of human encounters. In this raw environment, exchanges become more sincere, more genuine.

Invigorating practices in a unique setting

Imagine practicing yoga, meditation and Breathwork exercises, under a starry sky, in the vastness of the desert, with nothing else around.

It’s a fantastic energy that envelops us and nourishes our spiritual practices.

Face Yourself

The desert offers no escape. It brings us back to fundamental questions:

These questions, although unavoidable, were experienced in an extremely positive way. This time of reflection and silence, so difficult to find in our daily lives, is a precious opportunity.

The raw simplicity of the desert acts as a mirror, bringing about an inner purification.

Beauty That Opens the Heart

The vastness and natural splendor of the desert invite spiritual reflection and wonder. Beauty opens the heart, giving way to metaphysical questions.

This beauty connects us to something greater, something spiritual.

Great authenticity

From a spiritual point of view, the retreat offered real daily nourishment for the spirit. Without this benevolent accompaniment, the desert might have seemed much drier inside.

Moments of meditation, moments of silence alone on the dunes, or exchanges with other participants created a unique setting for inner reconstruction.

Meeting a Vital Need

Sharing such a spiritual experience with others also deepens the discussion. In the desert, total freedom sets in.

This freedom encourages genuine, unrestrained exchanges. I personally realized that the fraternity experienced in this simple, joyful environment met a fundamental, almost vital need.

Draw Strength and Courage

All the truth, simplicity andauthenticity I experienced in the desert, I take with me. This retreat had a profound effect on us, laying new foundations in our lives.

Withdrawing from the world, even for a limited time, is a rare opportunity. I urge you to live this unique experience, to draw strength and courage from the desert, and to join our next retreat.

Daphne.
